Shared housing: more than 40 areas approved, one year for owners to comply
If you share a flat, this one is about you. Dubai has named more than 40 areas where shared housing is allowed, including Al Barsha 1, Al Rigga, Al Muraqqabat and Al Ras. Owners, property managers and leasing companies have one year from 8 September 2026 to comply, so until September 2027. Every bedroom needs at least 5 square metres per person, and a permit comes through the Build in Dubai platform. Fines run from Dh500 to Dh500,000, and up to Dh1 million for a repeat. Trade Centre roundabout is now a junction, and the wait is 90 secondsTrade Centre

Etihad Rail, two weeks in: book earlyAl Yalayis
The Dubai to Abu Dhabi train leaves from Al Yalayis Station next to Jumeirah Golf Estates and takes about 64 minutes. Launch fares were Dh39 and Dh109, with ten trains a day.
